Supports the analysis, scoping and assessment of learning solutions. Partners with learning team to drive performance improvement by applying expertise in learning to identify opportunities, strategies and solutions that are directly linked to organizational and business goals. Will review analysis to determine root causes, propose solutions, scope out the projects and assess the impact of the solution. Individual contributor role.

Line of Business Description:

The Learning Consultant I is an individual contributor role, responsible for contributing to an effective learning plan for the business, function or enterprise, in partnership with the Learning and client-facing Learning & Leadership Development (L&LD) teams. The Learning Consultant I is an advisor and partner to the client-facing L&LD team for the line of business, function or enterprise, to ensure evolving learning needs are met and outcomes are achieved.

The Learning Consultant I is responsible for the following:

  • Manage design, development and maintenance of a course catalogue

  • Partnering to scope the learning need with the client-facing partner(s) to fully define audience, learning objective(s), timing and readiness

  • Partnering with learning manager to perform solution consulting with the client-facing team(s) to identify optimal learning solutions.

  • Collaborate with a project team to create learning solutions or programs

  • Remaining current on internal and external (vendor) learning development capabilities including timing, costs and appropriate application

  • Partnering with business partners to ensure accurate audience identification prior to content deployment

  • Defining and reporting on key metrics aligned to learning plan or program elements.

  • Working with and managing SME interactions to ensure content is provided for design and development

  • Adhering to applicable learning standards and guidelines

  • Partnering with portfolio manager to ensure content is maintained or deactivated according to applicable guidelines

  • Escalating issues back to client-facing L&LD team(s) who escalate(s) to business if needed

  • Building relationships and maintaining communication with client-facing L&LD team and business partners

The Learning Consultant I must communicate with peers responsible for learning horizontal capabilities such as external vendors, design and development, and project management as well as delivery and facilitation to represent the needs of the line of business, function or enterprise. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end learning cycle, resources, and deliverables while ensuring governance and standards are executed and met.

The Learning Consultant I is a member of the Regulatory, Enterprise Learning and Professional Development (REL&PD) team. This role reports to the learning manager or learning executive.

Required:

  • 3-5 years learning and development experience in a large, fast paced, results-oriented company

  • Strong ability to network and partner across teams to achieve results

  • Knowledge of learning plan governance and learning council processes

  • Project Management: Demonstrated success managing stakeholders, driving the execution of projects, and managing competing priorities

  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and relationship building skills

  • Ability to fundamentally understand business strategy and performance drivers

  • Basic knowledge and skills in analyzing, implementing and improving learning and development for all levels of employees.

  • Takes initiative and is a self-starter; works independently

  • Strong consulting, influencing, contracting, client engagement, analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

Desired:

  • Financial services industry experience

  • Series 7

  • Compliance or regulatory learning

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)

  • Strong Excel (pivots, v look-ups) and ability to draw and present conclusions from data
