Bank of America Treasury Data Management Governance – Domain Manager in Charlotte, North Carolina

Job Description:

The Treasury Data Management (TDM) Governance Domain Manager will deliver and provide oversight of activities in support of Treasury Functions, specifically related to the documentation, monitoring, and escalation of Metadata, Lineage and Data Quality Controls. The manager will direct and oversee a team of analysts and own the relationships with key stakeholders, business partners and Technology teams. The manager will deliver required metadata, lineage, processes, controls, documentation and evidence to ensure Treasury adherence to the Enterprise Data Management Standards and Risk Data Aggregation requirements for the agreed scope.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the end to end process to create, document, maintain and report on inventory of data inputs, transformations, and outputs, Data Domain Health Dashboard reporting, Data Dictionary, and Data Quality Controls, and Lineage and processes.

  • Partners with Technology, Business Operations and other Data Management stakeholders in order to define and implement Data Architecture Strategies, Domain boundaries, provide oversight on E2E implementation of new data sourcing/provisioning strategies, oversee the documentation of processes and requirements, and deliver on common goals.

  • Manage a team of analysts to create required processes, controls, documentation and evidence to ensure adherence to EDM Standards and RDA requirements

  • Implement data governance solution which include coordination and oversight of analysts to ensure attendance of required meetings, planning and executing work, providing feedback on requirements, reporting metrics, tracking and reporting progress and creating/submitting required documentation or evidence.

  • Oversee implementation of governance routines, metrics routines, status updates, and ad hoc reporting

  • Manage proper communication status to stakeholders and escalates issues according to defined process, as needed

Enterprise Role Overview

Manages a function or area within the technology environment. Manages other managers and/or senior single contributors. May be responsible for hiring, termination and performance management.. Responsible for the development, maintenance and support of multiple systems or applications including their ongoing service delivery and/or operation Responsible for multiple technology projects across multiple teams or a smaller number of major complex projects if a smaller area of the technology development function. Manages budget, monitors progress and adjusts resources and priorities accordingly. Responsible for staffing, performance management and compensation decision-making. Provides input into policy issues. IT degree preferred or substantially equivalent experience. Typically requires a minimum of 7-10 years of applicable experience.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 6+ years of Financial Services experience

  • 3+ years of experience of Data Management/Data Analysis concepts, including but not limited to Metadata, and Data Quality Controls

  • Strong understanding of data architecture and data management best practices

  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis / project management

  • Strong knowledge of writing procedures and business processes

  • Strong knowledge of BAC Enterprise Standards and Policies (e.g. Enterprise Data Management Standards)

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Basic to Intermediate SQL skills (ability to write and dissect queries)

  • Intermediate PowerPoint, Visio and SharePoint skills

  • Ability to multitask and work with team members in varying positions across the Program (peers and senior leadership)

  • Ability to learn quickly and prioritize effectively

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university

  • Previous experience in The CFO Group is a major plus

  • Experience with data analytics, VBA scripting, and creating Excel macros

  • Intermediate to Advanced Access skills

  • Previous experience with Audit, Compliance, and Operational Risk is a plus.

  • Previous BAC experience or strong BAC network

  • Data Quality, PMO or Data Architecture/Systems background is a plus

  • Proven experience in Data Management/Metadata/Controls/Data Domain Governance

  • Prior experience in financial services consulting
