Bank of America Audit Manager - Credit Risk in Boston, Massachusetts
The role of an Audit Manager: Oversees and executes assigned areas of audit work, providing day to day coaching and guidance to teammates. Executes audit strategy for the sound application of risk based auditing by defining audit scope, audit program, and test procedures. Typically acts as Auditor-in-Charge (AIC). Demonstrates strategic thinking and supports change. Oversees audit testing to ensure timely execution within quality standards and conformance to audit policies and procedures. Assesses issues for impact to business processes, controls and strategies, recommends severity ratings and escalation of broad themes or trends. Drafts quality and timely audit reports and shares results with business leaders. Manages business partner relationships when conducting specific audits; primary engagement is with line management. Exercises critical thinking and judgment to effectively influence management to improve the control environment. When leading an audit engagement, is responsible for day to day coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback. Fosters an inclusive work environment.
Responsibility to Audit the Bank’s Commercial Credit Risk function including the following: a subject matter expert on Credit Risk, project management of audits, and strong communication with Business and Audit management. Proactively implements audit strategy by defining audit scope, audit program & audit test procedures in area of responsibility in accordance with standards, regulations, and policies. Develops business partner relationship for areas of responsibility. Anticipates and exercises critical thinking and judgment to effectively influence business management & peers and acts as a catalyst. Helps business partners balance their business strategies with appropriate risk management controls from a business perspective. Assists with professional development of Internal Audit staff.
-Must have a minimum of 7 + years of Credit, Risk, and/or Auditing experience
-Sound organizational, analytical, oral and written communication skills
-Ability to successfully communicate to influence management and lead change in both strategic and tactical initiatives
-Self Starter, desire to learn able to teach others, high energy, positive attitude, exhibits flexibility
-Strong analytical skills. Ability to analyze large amounts of data and turn it into usable information
-Ability to work in a very detailed manner as well as to look broadly across a population and develop connections and themes identifying risk and concerns
-Ability to juggle multiple work efforts and to quickly change direction, as needed
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
-Ability to converse with management on all levels
-Having experience with Commercial Credit Life Cycle and related processes
-Enterprise Risk or Credit Risk experience is strongly preferred
-Strong presentation skills
-Strong preference to having Audit experience
