Bank of America Application Developer – Database, Data Warehousing in New York, New York

Job Description:

Responsibilities – The role is responsible for the design, development, coding, testing, debugging and documentation of data-warehouse/database/business intelligence applications. Duties include hands-on new development as well as support, maintenance, or enhancement of existing applications.

Hands on logical and physical data modeling and database design responsibilities. Be able to lead ETL/acquisition/distribution development initiatives involving multiple complex source and target systems. Develop complex PL/SQL code to support database applications, DW reporting or near real-time operational reporting applications. Conduct both proactive and reactive performance tuning activities during course of development of new applications and existing legacy applications. Comfortable with Unix Shell Scripting. Design and develop complex business intelligence reports. Perform data analysis and data profiling. Identify data quality issues.

Required Skills –

In-Depth knowledge of database concepts and hands-on experience with one or more of RDBMS (Oracle, Netezza, etc.). Advanced PL/SQL skills. Experience with Vertica is a plus. Hands-on Unix Shell Scripting. Hands-on experience with Informatica 8.1 or above. Informatica Administration experience a plus. Hands-on experience with one or more best-of-breed BI tools (Cognos, Tableau) – Not required, Good to have. Prior experience with at least 1 job scheduling tool (preferably Autosys) Previous experience with at least 1 mission critical full software development DW/BI development lifecycle. Understanding of various DW paradigms like Ralph Kimball & Bill Inmon. Ability to understand (or get the customer to articulate) the business needs in terms of business value. Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualification –

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or Software Engineering. 3+ years experience in technology/software development and delivery with focus on Databases, Data Warehouses and Business Intelligence domain.
